Over the next eight years, global GDP could increase by more than two percentage points if the gap in women's economic participation were halved, an OECD report estimates. Stereotypes and prejudices, if not discrimination against women, are costing the world a significant amount of lost growth. A year and a half after the launch of the "100 women against stereotypes" project and the online launch of the #100esperte database, the partners organized an event at the Rome and Milan offices of the European Commission Representation in Italy to illustrate the results achieved so far and present new developments. Following the success of the event with female researchers and scientists, the focus is now on female economists. On March 8th, the new database, which collects the CVs of influential Italian women, will be presented. Valuing the work of female economists means having a forward-looking vision of our future, in which female participation on par with that of men means greater wealth for all.
