Sandra Leone

Expert in the study of elementary particles, the Higgs boson, and the ATLAS experiment at CERN.

Role

Senior Researcher at the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), Pisa Section.

Bio

Sandra Leone graduated in Physics from the University of Pisa in 1990 and obtained her PhD from the same university in 1994. After experiences as a post-doctoral fellow at the INFN and as a tenured professor, she returned to the National Institute for Nuclear Physics, where she held the position of Senior Researcher at the Pisa section.

Her scientific activity focuses on experimental elementary particle physics, studying hadronic collisions, first at Fermilab with the CDF experiment and later at CERN as part of the Atlas experiment , contributing to fundamental research such as that on the Higgs boson . In addition to her research, she has been the coordinator of the European Masterclass and carries out evaluation activities for the European Commission, receiving awards from the Italian Physical Society.
