Role
Full Professor of Geometry at the University of Ferrara. Director of the Interuniversity Consortium for Advanced Training in Mathematics (CIAFM).
Bio
Cinzia Bisi graduated in Mathematics from the University of Modena in 1995 and received her PhD from the University of Florence in 2001. After a year as a pre-doctoral fellow at INdAM in Rome and some post-doctoral periods at the University of Paris VI-VII, she was a researcher in Geometry at the University of Calabria from 2005 to 2010.
After moving to the University of Ferrara, she became an associate professor of Geometry in 2016 and a full professor in 2021. She has held positions in the University's academic and research bodies, including Rector's Delegate for Internationalization from 2016 to 2021 and Department representative on the Research and Third Mission Council. Since 2025, she has served as Director of the Interuniversity Consortium for Advanced Training in Mathematics (CIAFM) for a three-year term.
Her scientific activity mainly concerns geometry , holomorphic dynamics, and automorphisms of complex varieties; in more recent years, she has focused on quaternionic and octonionic geometry and analysis. She has developed a growing interest in applications to geometric deep learning, robotics , and quantum computing .
In addition to her research, she focuses on gender issues in STEM fields and mathematics education, with a focus on digital technologies. She has written university textbooks, edited volumes, and served as editorial partner for international scientific journals.
