Bio
After graduating in Chemical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin in 1999, she earned a PhD in the same field from the same university. In November 2002, she became a researcher in the Chemical Plants department; from July 2010 to March 2016, she was an associate professor, and in March 2016, she became a full professor.
Her teaching activities include Chemical and Food Industry Plants and Energy Reuse and Recovery Processes. She sits on the university's Academic Senate, serves as director of the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT), and is the Resources Manager of the Green Team, as well as chairing the Re Soil Foundation.
His scientific work focuses on sustainable process engineering, the circular bioeconomy, waste and biomass valorization, biorefineries, and CO₂ utilization, with a particular focus on material recovery and resource regeneration. Since 2020, he has been President of the Re Soil Foundation, which promotes soil health and regeneration by fostering dialogue between research, businesses, institutions, and local communities. His work integrates chemical engineering, industrial ecology, and environmental assessment to develop solutions capable of reintegrating carbon and nutrients into production and natural cycles.
He also directs research programs aimed at the transition to a circular economy, focusing on second-generation biorefinery processes, the valorization of CO2 as a raw material, the production of biomethane, biofuels, and advanced waste recycling.
