Bio
A physical education teacher since 1986, Giuliana Maria Cassani began working at the Regional School Office for Lombardy in the Physical Education Office in 2009, subsequently taking on the role of regional coordinator for physical education and sports until September 2025. In this role, she was responsible for coordinating and overseeing the teaching and learning processes for student-athletes in the region.
A freelance journalist since 1997, she has collaborated over the years with specialized publications and sports magazines, including La Gazzetta dello Sport, La Gazzetta dello Sportivo, La Corsa, and Atletica Week. From 2008 to 2012, she served as press officer for the FIDAL Lombardy regional committee. Her expertise combines journalism , sports communication , and the promotion of physical activity in schools. She is currently responsible for the editorial management of the website dedicated to the History of Sport, www.la-cross.org
A coach and sports manager, she was elected to the Lombardy Committee of the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) for two consecutive terms from 2012 to 2020. Between 2014 and 2022, she was a member of the Athletics Technical Commission of the International School Sport Federation (ISF). She also co-founded the Association of Historical Sports Chroniclers (La CRO.SS), of which she is vice president.
